Insider Tip
The specialty cocktails at Haru are very popular. And its great location in the middle of the popular Old City neighborhood makes a great place to go for drinks during your night out on the town.
Haru is a modern Japanese restaurant known for its ample portions and striking design.
Located in a former bank building on a bustling corner in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Haru serves inventive Japanese cuisine ranging from sushi and sashimi to salads, appetizers and modern takes on traditional entrees like teriyakis and tempuras.
The bi-level space is grand — soaring ceilings, vaulted glass windows and mahogany accents make for a serene dining experience. The sushi bar is tucked away in an alcove around the stairs and is a great, intimate corner of Haru. The upstairs lounge, complete with a full bar, plenty of seating and a two-sided fireplace, is a great spot to enjoy a few cocktails with friends.
Haru also has a smaller, lighter menu for lunch.
